We are delighted to present Delta, an installation by Tünde Újszászi, which is on display in our window until 8 August 2021. A few more recent works are on view in the gallery until summer holidays (28 June) as a preview of Újszászi's upcoming solo show in 2022.

The artwork Delta symbolises the nature of change. Paper as medium embodies temporality, since objects created from this soft material are constantly changing with the passing of time. Impermanence is its inherent nature. I find it exciting to explore ways of creating textile structures with minimal use of material and equipment. Reimagining seemingly useless objects as sculptural medium only by way of the repetitive structure of weaving.

Following the almost nothing exhibition in 2019, and pursuing the gallery’s preference for reduced, tranquil and minimalistic works, this exhibition brings together four artists in search of transparency as emerging from highly individual, elaborate and intriguing artistic strategies.

Transparency, as an idea and in this exhibition, deals neither with figurative objects nor defined spaces, but reveals a “broader spatial order … a perception of different spatial locations … in a continuous activity” (György Kepes). Transparency becomes manifest in interaction, the interaction of layers and dimensions that are both separate and inseparable from each other. The apparition of transparency as an idea immediately invokes the question of the medium and the materiality in which it takes shape.

Exhibition by Apol Temesi textile artist and Tünde Újszászi visual artist opens today at the GIM-House in Gödöllő.
Curated by Zsófia Hidasi textile artist. 
Opening ceremony from 17:00 with an introduction by Judit Mészáros (Chief Architect of Gödöllő) and
Erzsébet Katona Szabó (Noémi Ferenczy award-wining textile artist).

The almost exclusive use of the colour white and the extreme reduction of the superfluous characterize all the works and arethe golden thread of this minimalistic exhibition. The smallest details are given the highest importance, while being in fact almost nothing.

Galerie Pugliese Levi is pleased to present the work of Hungarian artist Tünde Újszászi on occasion of her first solo show in Germany.
The artist will be at the gallery for a preview of the exhibition and to talk about her work from 17:00. Opening ceremony with an introduction by Art historian Dr. Attila Horányi (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest) from 18:00.
